COVID-19 Update: 2020 Programming Postponed
Dear FASO Supporters:
As your community orchestra, your health is our primary concern. That is why the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra (FASO) regrets to inform you that our “Summer Symphony” performance at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020; and the Excellence Awards Benefit Dinner & Gala on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020 are postponed until next year, 2021. We are also suspending the remainder of our in-person Music Education & Outreach programming for 2020 and providing remote learning resources for our Youth String Ensemble.
We shall inform you of the new dates of these events as soon as deemed appropriate by the Department of Public Health.
Our thanks to all of you for committing your attendance, cooperation, and pledges. In consideration of this extenuating circumstance, we will keep all of your commitments and pledges on status quo, pending further notice and as soon as the events are cleared for implementation. We thank you so much for your support!
In the meantime, please stay in touch through our social media – as a service, FASO will be sharing performances that provide strength, comfort, and inspiration through video broadcasts and live streams. We also hope you will join us in a new recording project that will bring music that uplifts our community as we face this global health crisis.
We extend our sincerest sympathy to those affected by this pandemic, condolences for lost lives, as well as our heartfelt prayers for everyone’s continued safety, well-being and normalcy. To our esteemed FASO 2020 awardees, musicians, sponsors, donors, volunteers, guests, and all our friends, please stay healthy and safe. We realize that this is a very trying time for all and may we not lose hope.
